Start with the service
An infrastructure plan should begin with a clear definition of the service it will deliver. Model choice, context length, response time, quality expectations and demand patterns set the boundaries for a useful design. A hardware inventory alone does not describe a production service.
Connect technical and commercial assumptions
A planning model can separate capital costs, recurring operating costs and the capacity that can be sold under the intended service conditions. Utilization, ramp-up time and reserved headroom should be explicit assumptions. Compare scenarios on the same workload and service requirements, rather than on headline hardware specifications.
Use scenarios to guide the next decision
Our approach is to ask which assumption changes the investment decision. Demand growth, power availability, equipment delivery and operating readiness can each change the sequence of a development. A useful model makes those dependencies visible and can be updated as evidence improves.
